Project Hope

PROJECT

We graduate over 90% of our children from high
school verses a national average of 67%

If we do not focus on encouraging and providing post secondary education for our youth, then we have not allowed them or our communities to reach their full potential and in many cases have simply postponed the problem until after high school.

In Arkansas alone over 10,000 children drop out of high school every year which results in lower paying jobs, less taxes, increased crime and increased government support. The loss of potential income over a lifetime for those 10,000 students is over $2,600,000,000!

Working with members ages 6-12 and 13-18, we combat problems that contribute to low high school graduation rates by implementing localized activities and tactics, empahsizing more intentional integration of programs across core program areas and sharing findings of more rigourous evaluation efforts.

The programs that encompass Project HOPE are:

Goals for Graduation introduces academic goal setting to Club members 6-18 by linking their future aspirations with concrete actions today.

Club Tech utilizes three levels of animate lessons in which members learn skills in various Microsoft software programs, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Publisher and Digital Image Pro.

Money Matters promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18. Participants learn how to manage a checking account, budget, save and invest, start a small business and pay for college.

Be Great: Graduate is an initiative that targets young people most vulnerable for dropping out of school. This comprehensive strategy is based on the University of Minnesota's evidence based model and consists of three components: Mentor-Youth Relationships, Intentional Tracking and Enhancing Club School Home Partnership and Communication.
